FP200 Auto
Description
The FP200 Auto measures the clearance between the component body
and its plunger and verifies it is within limits both for diameter
and permissible taper. Components are
manually loaded into the machine on pallets (2 at a time) where they are
automatically processed by a robot. A touch screen HMI offering an
operator selectable interface provides access to all the machine
parameters (password protected) and provides feed back on the
machine status and test results along with in process SPC analysis.
Detailed fault diagnostics, user friendly error/warning messages and
event logging are provided by the HMI through an intuitive operator
interface. At specified intervals the machine will automatically
load master components and update its calibration if required,
displaying an error if the calibration change is too great.
FP200-Auto Backleak Test Machine
Operation
The machine gauges the clearance between the body and the plunger by measuring the flow of pressurised fluid between them. The valve position under test is pressurised using a servo control. The pressure is generated by an intensifier with an accurate displacement transducer attached. As the piston moves forward to maintain test pressure due to the leakage, the displacement transducer measures the movement, from which the volume of fluid used during the test is determined. This, when coupled with the test duration, gives the flow rate. The component is tested submerged in oil to expel any air, prior to testing. This machine measures the clearance on the low and the high pressure valve positions in succession.
Test Sequence
A Component is picked from the pallet and loaded to the orientation station. When orientated, the component is loaded to the test station where it is clamped in position. The two leak rates are measured and the results analysed to determine if the component is a pass or a failure. Passed components are returned to the original pallets but failures are placed on a failure track for operator attention.
